Our Process

A Considered Path, At Your Pace

There is no single way to transition a practice. Our process is shaped around you, deliberate, confidential, and unhurried, so that every step serves your decision, not a deadline.

The Stages

From First Conversation to Long-Term Stewardship

These stages describe how ECP typically moves with an owner, but they are a framework, not a fixed sequence. You may pause, return, or step away at any point.

01

A Private Introduction

It begins with a confidential conversation, by phone or in person, at your pace. We listen to your story, your goals, and what you hope to protect. Nothing is shared, recorded, or acted upon without your consent.

02

Understanding Your Practice

With your permission, we seek to understand your practice in depth: its patients, team, history, and the standards you have established. This is a learning process, not an audit, and it proceeds only as you are comfortable.

03

Considering the Possibilities

We reflect back what we have heard and outline the structures that may fit your goals: full transition, continued practice, retained equity, phased succession, or something shaped to your circumstances. No single path is presumed.

04

A Considered Proposal

If and when you wish, we present a proposal in plain language, with the terms, the structure, and what each means for you, your team, and your patients. You take the time you need. There is no clock.

05

Transition With Continuity

Should you choose to proceed, we plan the transition around continuity for your patients, your staff, and your standards. You remain involved to the degree and for the duration that is right for you and your practice.

06

Stewardship Beyond Closing

A transition is not the end of our relationship. ECP holds practices for the long term, and we remain a partner to the practice, its people, and its patients well after the day ownership changes hands.

Principles That Guide the Process

How We Move With You

These commitments hold at every stage, regardless of whether a conversation leads to a transition.

01

Confidentiality at every stage

02

Your timeline, not ours

03

No obligation to proceed

04

Continuity of care prioritized

A Conversation, Not a Commitment

Begin a Confidential Conversation

ECP is prepared to have the conversation before you are prepared to make the decision. There is no obligation, no pressure, and no expectation: only a thoughtful exchange about what you have built and what comes next.
